Panthers Suffer a disastrous road trip to SUNO

Philander Smith suffers a three-game setback at SUNO.

 

The Panthers completed a disastrous road trip this past weekend, dropping three straight on the road at Southern University of New Orleans. Philander lost the first game of the Saturday doubleheader 9-4, followed by an 11-0 defeat. On Sunday, the Panthers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead before a five-run surge in the bottom of the eighth inning by the Knights led to a 15-5 defeat, as the 10-run rule was put into effect.  The losses heavily impacted the conference standings with the tournament two weeks away.

 

The Panthers will try to find the win column on Tuesday, April 14th, as they travel to Tuskegee, AL for a two-game set against the host Tuskegee Golden Tigers
