Reece Stamps His Name in PSU History

Raymond Reece's journey from Oakland, California to national recognition has reached a historic milestone in Philander history. The senior power forward at PSU has been named an NAIA Third Team All-American, cementing his place among the top players in the country.

A key piece of the 2023–2024 championship team, Reece has continued to elevate his game each season. This year, he delivered one of the most dominant campaigns in recent memory, earning HBCU Athletic Conference Player of the Year and HBCU Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. He also secured spots on the 2026 HBCU Athletic Conference First Team and All-Defensive Team.

Coach Greenwood describes Raymond Reece as, "A true Philander man who demonstrates exceptional character both on and off the court. Being able to coach him his senior year has been a blessing. He is definitely a contender for PSU's Hall of Fame."

Over the course of his career, Reece has surpassed 1,500 points while dominating the boards with over 1,000 rebounds. His physicality, consistency, and defensive presence have made him a force in the paint and a leader for his team.

Reece also becomes just the fourth All-American in program history, joining notable names such as Robert Thompson, Ken Brown, and D' Alvin Brown. In recognition of this achievement, Reece will have a banner bearing his name hung in Mims Gymnasium—an honor reserved for the program's elite.

From Oakland roots to a lasting legacy at Philander Smith, Raymond Reece's impact goes beyond statistics. With a championship, multiple conference honors, and now All-American recognition, his name will forever be remembered among the greats who have worn the Panthers uniform.
